Paratech's TiTAN Crash Axe is a super lightweight forcible-entry tool designed with input from USAF Pararescue officers. The handle with integrated metal cutting claw is made from 6AL4V Grade 5 titanium while the interchangeable bits are H900 hardened 17-4 stainless steel; perfect for ripping into (or out of) any situation. The component specific materials allow Paratech to produce the axe at a mere 2.5 pounds. The cored handle construction reduces weight while providing positive hand grip for pushing the tool's center of mass over its head. This design increases striking power while reducing operator strain. The center hole in TiTAN's head is designed to accept a 2nd tool for right angle prying and the notched cutting claw/wire ripper provides improved bite for tearing through sheet metal and wire fencing. Clear Irons has been fortunate to be involved in every aspect of this design program; including concept sketches, prototyping, functional testing, production and future development.
