We have a lot of powerful tools at our disposal. Even so, we start almost every job with some notes and scribbles in one of our sketchbooks. Early crude sketches are a great way to keep up with brainstorming sessions and begin honing new designs. Additionally, we utilize sketch software and interactive pen displays to quickly show what a concept or scene could be. When our clients need to really sell an idea we have the skill to make a sketch 'pop'. Often times, marking up notes on a 3d mockup and sending it over to a client can be the best way to clarify design intent. Quick sketches become the language we use to get a product in the hands of our clients. It's all about getting ideas across quickly and effectively. No matter how lofty our goals, each project will start with sketch work to make the most of planning before modeling. Sketches are a powerful way to work through 'almost-there' ideas and record development of design programs.
